Originally, the store was Graden's Casual and Formal Wear but was purchased in January of 2007 and renamed "Alexandra's". The store then underwent remodeling with new floors, lights, paint. The inventory was purged of obsolete and ugly merchandise. New lines of dresses were added.

The store is owned and operated by Ponayota Lammon and her daughter, Alexandra Chandler.

Alexandra had entered and won many pageants since she was 9 months old. In addition to doing spray tans, nails, prom and pageant hair up-do's, and, hair extensions, Alexandra also does pageant coaching and modeling lessons.

Ponayota is in charge of daily operations of the store. As a recovering pageant mom, she has a keen eye for what it takes to win pageants. Not only that, she has been a judge at many pageants throughout Alabama.

Her husband, Keith, maintains the website in his "spare time", after putting in 50 hours a week at his job and another 20 hours a week on another side business.
